Lake Tahoe's water was somehow more turquoise than I expected — sat on the sand for a while just taking it in, boots and all, with the mountains lining the far shore.
The day was really about the people I got to share it with — a quiet moment with my partner looking out at the water together, and my son taking some of his first steps in the sand right beside us, sand stuck to every toe.
