Wearing traditional clothes is a way of letting the world know who I am without having to say it. An ombre pink and magenta lehenga with a red banarasi dupatta felt like exactly the right words for that, standing in front of the towering Rumi Darwaza.
Built in 1784 and modelled after Istanbul's Sublime Porte, the Rumi Darwaza stands sixty feet tall — more than enough gate to let a dupatta catch the wind properly.
