Ultimately, the greatest lesson that COVID-19 can teach humanity is that we're all in this together. I keep coming back to that thought while I stand here in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert in Brussels, wrapped head to toe in red — beret, scarf, gloves — under a ceiling of fairy lights.
The gallery was nearly empty, which made the lights overhead feel even brighter — a strange kind of beauty this past year has had a habit of turning up in unexpected places.
